Hiking in Ventura County

I’m Gale, and I’m glad you’re here!

My mission is to help people who want to be creative but can’t find the time or money. You won’t find big builds here. I’m keeping things Simple, Thrifty, and Fun, because that’s how I roll…mostly. Except at Halloween when not even Covid-19 can stop me from going all out.

I’m the mom of  3 young adults and the wife of a Navy vet. My kids are adults, and only Cameron lives with us. I’ve parented kids with arthritis, Asperger’s, and asthma and have advocated with the Arthritis Foundation in Washington D.C.  I’ve worn many hats including construction business owner, restaurant owner & manager, travel agent, banker, apartment locator, and professional nanny. My cottage industries have included embroidery, gingerbread houses, sewing, and a vintage market booth. These experiences have taught me to conserve, manage costs, and problem-solve creatively.

I’m a Harry Potter geek, and am trying to cut back the Dr Pepper. I like to travel but hate to pack. Fabric and curb alerts find me. Hiking is what I love most to do in SoCal. I love the challenge of making something from cast-offs.

Join me as I share easy crafts, thrifted treasures, healthy food, and practical solutions!
